NOTE FROM THE COMPOSER

Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus (Roman Emperor 161-180 A.D. – the last of the “Five Good Emperors”) kept journals where he formulated his thoughts on nature, leadership, infinity, and human behavior. Known as the “Philosopher King,” he believed the universe and everything in it is interconnected and had ONE substance and ONE soul; that all apparent human divisions and distinctions between people  – be they creed, race, or heritage – were conceived by humankind alone.  He believed that these distinctions were completely counter to harmonious existence.  The text below captures the essence of this belief.

TEXT

All things are woven together – a sacred bond unites them.  There is scarcely not one thing isolated from another.  Everything works together in giving form to ONE universe.
