duet for two coloratura sopranos and organ

NOTE FROM THE COMPOSER

I wrote this work for my two daughters, Aubrey and Brittany, who traveled with me and sang in many ensembles under my direction in their growing up years. Both were what I humorously called, “super sopranos” [“coloraturas” in more technical terms].   From second grade through college, I loved working with them in weekly rehearsals.  It was a treasured time.  In their mid teens, I wrote them this duet.  The tessitura is unusually high, but “prime real estate” for these two voices.  The attached recording features Aubrey and Brittany on the soprano parts, and Dr. Wayne Kallstrom on the organ.
