NOTE FROM THE COMPOSER

This work was written as part of a commission project for the well-known Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Randall has offered this work at no cost to the public as a gift of appreciation for those that labor in the ministry of the Church. The text is from three sources: 1) An 8th century Hymn, 2) George Herbert (1593-1633), an English metaphysical poet, orator, and priest in the Church of England, and 3) Cordelia Ray, an African-American poet born in 1852 and receiving a masters degree from the University of New York.
