NOTE FROM THE COMPOSER

Z. Randall Stroope also wrote a solo version of this work that is only available on zrstroope.com.

Sara Teasdale (1884-1933), American poetess and lyricist who was born in St. Louis is one of my favorite American poets. Her major poetic themes were love, death, and nature’s beauty. In 1918, she won the Columbia University Poetry Prize (forerunner of the Pulitzer Prize).
