NOTE FROM THE COMPOSER

Sculptor, Auguste Rodin (creator of The Thinker and The Burghers of Calais) still stands as one of the greatest sculptors in history. A young French sculptor, Camille Claudel – a genius in her own right – began working in Rodin’s studio and remained for about six years. Their passion for the art and for each other was remarkable. The poet, Rainer Maria Rilke – a Bohemian-Austrian poet – was secretary to Rodin for a time, and wrote a poem describing the love between Rodin and Claudel.

THE TEXT

She who reconciles the ill-matched threads of her life, and weaves them gratefully into a single cloth ….. With each disclosure you encompass more and she stretches beyond what limits her, to hold you. You are the partner on her loneliness, the unspeaking center of her monologues.
