Singer, The

Two-part voices/flute/piano; commissioned by Sylvia Munsen, educator and friend; text by Bronnie Taylor (1921-1991)

I met a sing on the hill
He wore a tattered cloak
His cap was torn, his shoes were worn
And dreamily he spoke
Fa la la…

I watched the singer down the hill
My eyes went following after
And I thought I heard a fairy flute
And the sound of fairy laugher.
Fa la la….

This is a playfully innocent work with straightforward voice and flute writing (performance time 2:40).  Free download of music (score, and flute part)
